Ethical Keyring Manufacturing

We've been supplying UK organisations with perfect, ethically-sourced custom made keyrings for 30 years. As a socially responsible company, we take ethical trading very seriously and are proud of our strict policies and auditing processes. It's vitally important to us that our products are made in the most humane conditions possible, that our workers are paid well, work reasonable hours and are happy about the work they do.

A Core Value

We have always taken ethical trading as seriously as possible so you can rest assured knowing that we have done everything we can to ensure we give you the best product possible without risking anyone else’s human rights in the process. As Sedex members, we keep up to date on the latest policies involving ethical sourcing and trading.

Peace of Mind

You can buy from us with peace of mind knowing that your branded products will easily stand up to scrutiny. With over 30 years’ experience working with factories outside of the EU, we keenly understand the potential risks involved and how to avoid unethical trading pitfalls. Our factories are required to pass strict auditing processes such as Sedex SMETA audits, BSCI, WRAP as well as our own internal auditing procedures which we are happy to share with you. If they don’t we won’t send work there any more.

Modern Slavery Act

Our newest policy addition is regarding the Modern Slavery Act 2015. For as long as we’ve been in business we have always taken forced labour very seriously and refuse to work with any factory that shows any slight discrepancy within their audit or practices. We are very happy however to see inhumane working conditions specifically targeted in their own act. You can read our statement on the act and how we are fulfilling our responsibilities towards it here: Lyons Presentations Modern Slavery Statement 2019/20

Need more info? With pleasure!

We are very open about our supply chains, so if you want to view our policy documents or need a copy of an audit just let us know and we can provide this for you.

    Die Making

    Die Making

This is the most crucial part of the keyring making process “ the finished keyring is only as good as the Die! Our specialist die sinker will receive the keyring artwork from our designers and craft the logo into a solid piece of steel. Our experienced Die making department allow us to produce a logo on to a keyring which is a perfect representation of your design and the detail can generally be minute.

The die is hardened in a special kiln and we are then ready to stamp the metal. Each die can stamp 10,000 impressions. We can normally stamp brass, copper, iron for the more promotional keyrings and sterling silver, 9ct gold or even 18ct gold for the more prestigious corporate jewellery.

Once the impression on the metal has been produced, the strips of metal are jigged into a cutting machine and then cut out into the shape required by the customer.

We have a vast range of different fittings and attachments. The most popular are lapel studs with butterfly clutch, brooch with safety catch and stickpins with end stoppers. In addition torpedo swivel cufflinks and tieslide fittings are popular as well. There are also many keyring fittings that can be used on metal tags, dogtags, cap badges, plaques etc.

    Plating

The plating process coats the base metal with a fine flash layer of either nickel, gilt, bronze or antique plate. This fine metal covering gives a sheen and shine to each keyring.

    Enameling

    Enameling

For the high quality service award style keyring, hard enamel will provide a classy finish. If budgets are lower then a cold enamel process can be used. Each colour is hand filled and then either fired or baked dependant upon the different enamel used. Either are perfect methods for decorating metal keyrings.

Each keyring goes through a rigorous quality control procedure and from the initial stamping to final packing; we have checks in place to make sure that every keyring is of a constantly high quality. The cleaning process after the enamelling is a vital part of this quality control.
